Western Horseman has been “The World’s Leading Horse Magazine” almost since its inception in 1936. It began as a “voice for the horse” in a world where the equine role in the workplace was ending and the horse’s use as a recreational partner was beginning. In the more than 75 years since, Western Horseman has become a trusted source for all things relating to the Western stock horse and the Western lifestyle for those who are passionate about them.
Each month the magazine features articles about ranching, rodeo competition, tack and equipment, horse training, equine health and more. In addition, Western Horseman has a solid book-publishing unit with more than 40 titles in print. Most are educational in nature and written by noted horse experts in collaboration with magazine staff members. The popular Legends series features famous Quarter Horses and the individuals who helped those sires and dams make stock-horse history.
