Description:
The candidate will multi-task, learn and use internal systems, input data, and ad production for the sales team. The individual will also support other activities as needed. They will communicate effectively with internal and external customers and resolve customer issues. They will plan, organize, and prioritize workflows to meet goals and deadlines.

Duties and Responsibilities :
Duties and responsibilities will include but will not be limited to; the interaction between advertisers and employees. Being a point liaison between the Publisher, Sales Department, and Production departments in Augusta, GA, working with advertisers on the appearance of their ads, proofing and ad trafficking. Other duties include pagination validation, , marketing support, sales support, and other office necessities. Position is also responsible for posting to Facebook and Twitter social media accounts.

Sales Support
• Provide ad sales support for sales team
• Initiate contact with advertisers for ad materials
• Collect all ad materials for sales team
• Work with designers as instructed by sales team to design ads
• Revise current ads as needed for advertisers
• Send out proofs for approval
• Update Breeze as needed
• Maintain and support FTP sites for uploading ad materials by advertisers

Breeze
• Enter and update ad materials
• Respond to all alerts
• Proofing
• Breeze corrections
• Alert Business Manager / Publisher to any contract issues
• Work with NIIT to resolve ad material issues
• Q1 status corrections
• Ensure Publisher/account approvals are going through

Paginations
• Provide paginations for publications within a day of published space closing (unless otherwise noted on internal production schedule)
• Work with editorial team to update edit for current issues
• Verify contracted advertisers
• Ensure contractual ad placement requirements are met
• Ensure book standards and agreements are met
• Print and supply each sales person/publisher with physical copy
• Follow up to ensure sales team is checking their ads placement etc

Living Proof
• Request LP Structures for publications within a day of published space closing (unless otherwise noted on internal production schedule)
• Ensure LP information is accurate
• Proof copy as needed / requested by editorial
• Ensure ad placement is correct per contracts
• Check for corruptions on any page (low res images, missing logos, etc)
• Ensure sales team has reviewed and signed off on their ads

Other Duties
• Other duties may be assigned as needed and based on office work flow.

Job Description

STATEMENT OF THE JOB:

 The role of Art Director is responsible for producing all elements and components of product design with practical creativity. Must be able to collaborate with editorial staff in creating feature layouts. Demonstrates the ability to design autonomously as well as function as part of team in order to produce high quality products. Skill set must include sophisticated sense of typography, photo editing skills, page design and ability to tell a story through words and pictures. Manages workflow as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be very experienced with the Adobe CS, multiple versions.
  • At least a four-year degree in design, art, journalism, related field or life experience.
  • At least 4 years of consumer/trade/custom magazine or similar experience.
  • Solid working knowledge of publishing workflows and pre-press processes.
  • Sophisticated sensibility in application of imagery and process color to editorial page.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of design trends.
  • Highly organized, proactive, detail oriented with ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Deadline and project oriented.
  • Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with Publishing Services leadership and design staff to conceptualize, design and produce all elements of MVP products including but not exclusive to maps, Where Magazine, Quick Guides and Guestbooks.
  • Participate in book building process from concept through printed product.
  • Responsible and accountable for correctness and completeness of final products while adhering to schedules and deadlines.
  • Recommend methods to streamline and improve production/design processes.
  • Facilitate the success of the team by being actively leader in problem solving and quality improvement.
  • Be familiar with primary responsibilities of other team members and assist them when necessary.
  • Monitor and stay current with all products produced by the team.
  • Stay current on new software and technological advancements.

WORKING CONDITIONS:  (if applicable)

Primarily seated at a desk using a computer in an air-conditioned office.

Must be able to work in a drug-free, smoke-free environment. Occasional night or weekend work.

Essential Functions

  1. Transport and deliver items and/or passengers to a business or destination in a safe, timely manner.
  2. Open vehicle doors and assist with loading and unload items and/or passengers from vehicles.
  3. Adhere to assigned routes and follow time schedules.
  4. Listen to traffic and weather reports to stay up-to-date on road conditions.
  5. Keep exterior and interior of cars clean of debris and clutter.
  6. Maintains a schedule of when maintenance on the fleet has been performed and when next service is due.
  7. Works in a safe manner and recognizes unsafe situations. Takes appropriate action to ensure the safety of themselves and passengers.
